I have never stood in line for a Beef Tenderloin

It really didn't feel like Easter to me this year. I was going to make Easter Baskets for the kids and my husband said " Are you nuts" (I hear that alot)" They're 40 years old for Christ sake, why would you give them Easter Baskets?" --- and he calls me nuts.

Anyway, I picked up a Honey Baked Ham on Friday. Usually I wait till the Saturday before Easter to get the Ham but I took a chance that there might not be a long line. I usually wait at least 20 minutes in line ( for a Ham ). I mean really --- it's Ham. I pulled into the parking lot and my heart skipped a beat -- no one was waiting by the door. This was the first time I have been to this Honey Baked Ham store. I didn't realize until I opened the door how long the line was, and that it was weaving back and forth thru the store up to the counter.

While I was standing there, a women walks in and gets behind me and says " Wow this line is so short now" -- she said she was there earlier and left because there were at least 100 people in line and out the door. Are you kidding me? There are at least 40 in here now and soon as one leaves another files in. That's alot of Ham.

I like Ham, but it's no Beef Tenderloin. Why do I feel pressure to get a Ham for Easter -- and stand in line to get it. I have never stood in line for a Beef Tenderloin.

Who started the tradition of serving Ham on Easter? Why don't we serve Chicken or Rabbit? What does a Pig have to do with Easter?

Next Easter there will be Baskets!
